Overview & Reviews
This year the Grand Caravan receives a styling refresh and a new Stow 'n Go seating and storage system with fold-flat second- and third-row seats, as well as a hefty base price reduction.
- Excellent ride and handling characteristics, good low-end pull from 3.8-liter V6, roomy cabin, nifty fold-flat second- and third-row seats.

Grand Caravan SXT - 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan
By ponypwr - August 14 - 10:00 amJust bought a 2005 Grand Caravan SXT. Love the Stow and Go, and for the price, nothing can touch this van. The DVD is great and we really like the storage console between the seats. This is our fifth minivan, and the best yet.

2005 grand caravan sxt review - 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan
By dan prosser - August 9 - 10:00 amVery thoughtfully designed vehicle! Stow and go is elegant in its simplicity. Great initial quality-no trips to dealer after 5000 miles. In a trip from IL to AZ, I got 21.5 miles/gal averaging 65 mph. Only concern was that the van seemed to float somewhat when passing semis at 80 mph in NM. Otherwise, the ride was great and the engine very responsive to passing requests. This is my 4th Dodge minivan and is the best by far!

By Art1 - July 3 - 10:00 amIve only had it for a few weeks, but if you are looking for an all around family car and light work truck, you found it in this minivan. I was never a minivan person, but after buying this one I am now.

Love it - 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan
By CJ - March 18 - 7:06 pmThis is a great vehicle. Its got a 3.8L and its powerful. Drives like a car, unlike my 96 Ford Aerostar. The stow-n-go seats are so easy to use and so versatile. The kiddos love the DVD and I do, too, as long as its not Son of the Mask playing. We took it on a trip from Phoenix to Yellowstone one month after buying and it did great. Very comfy. Got 23 mpg on the trip, but only get 19 mpg normally. The rear air is a godsend here in Phoenix.

Very good for the price. - 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan
By dssmith - March 4 - 9:40 amWeve had the vehicle since January. Got it home, opened the sunroof and it wouldnt close, wiring was kinked, but they fixed it very quickly and Weve had no problems since. We get about 23- 25 mpg on the highway, but only 12 to 12.5 in town, (Im not a lead foot either.) This is the SXT with the Special Edition package, which was nice since it had everything we wanted, nicely discounted. Only complaint is that the spare tire is under the passenger seat, so the seat cant be lowered. Im 61" and my wife is 510" and neither of us can sit in the passenger seat without reclining it. (Im not a big fan of sunroofs, it was part of the package.) Imports were $6 to $10k more for similar van.

Got lucky I guess - so far - 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan
By Trevorvw - January 20 - 1:46 amBought this one new after owning an 01 Honda Odyssey that demolished 3 transmissions in 2 years. It is every bit as quick as the Honda was, gets decent mileage, hasnt broken down ever, the seats are more comfortable, and the stow and go is a marvel. Were pushing about 16000 miles on it now and if its like the rest of the complaints out there - then well see - but it does have a 7/70 warranty and Honda is certainly no better. Honda power doors would not open quick if power doors not functioning - or ever. Dodge completely worked around this issue.

Nice update - 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan
By bhosken - December 14 - 1:26 pmWe previously owned a 1995 Grand Caravan and because of the great reliability we had and the comfortable drive it provided we decided to stay with this for our next van. We love the features included on the SXT and find Stow and Go indespensible already.
